The future of agriculture, energy and the rural way of life in Colorado is dependent upon a change in state leadership, Republican Party Chairwoman Kristi Burton Brown told Logan County Republicans Saturday during her Lincoln Day Dinner keynote address.

“We are facing the exodus of the energy and agriculture industries in Colorado,” Burton Brown said. “If that is allowed to happen, it will be devastating to Colorado. You are the ones that feed our state and keep it running.”

An example, she said, of the attack farmers and ranchers have felt on their industry is Gov. Jared Polis’ nominees to an animal board following a January resignation from the State Board of Veterinary Medicine.

“We demanded Ellen Kessler’s resignation,” Burton Brown said. “She’s been unacceptable from the very beginning.”…… Read More

I toured the JBS plant last Friday, August 18. The group picture is JBS staff , Holtorf and 3 other legislators. Reps Gabe Evans, Ryan Armagost, and State Senator Byron Pelton. The cattle industry is vital to our rural Colorado economy and the JBS processing plant employs thousands of good people and processes 5000 head of cattle a day.
