Today was a BIG day for Colorado agriculture. SB21-248— Loan Program for Colorado Agriculture and SB21-234— General Fund Transfer Agriculture Drought & Resiliency passed the State House on 3rd reading. These 2 bills co prime-sponsored by Representative Holtorf are now on the way to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law.
SB21-248 invests $30 million in the Colorado agricultural future loan program in the Colorado Department of Agriculture. This bill will provide farm-to-market loans and low-low-interest loans to eligible farmers, ranchers, and Colorado Producers in a diverse supply chain.
While SB21-234 creates the agriculture and drought resiliency fund. This would provide $3 million from the Colorado General Fund and appropriates the money from the fund to the Department of Agriculture which will be used to engage, prepare, and mitigate droughts and soil health in Colorado.
Together these two bills are a $33 million investment from the Federal CARES Act into Colorado Agriculture. I am honored to be a prime co-sponsor on SB21-248 along with SB21-234 to reinvest in Colorado agriculture.

Colorado JBS Plant toured by State Legislators
I toured the JBS plant last Friday, August 18. The group picture is JBS staff , Holtorf and 3 other legislators. Reps Gabe Evans, Ryan Armagost, and State Senator Byron Pelton. The cattle industry is vital to our rural Colorado economy and the JBS processing plant employs thousands of good people and processes 5000 head of cattle a day.
Proposition HH | Bad for Colorado Tax Payers
Proposition HH is bad for Colorado tax payers. It will not fix the problem of higher property taxes. It taxes local control and transfers it to the state. More big socialist style government thanks to Jarod Polis and your big government Democrats.
